J&J On the Go

It was a fresh start for John Joseph Pangelinan, coming home to Saipan after over two decades away. Reconnecting with his roots in San Vicente and spending time with his parents sparked a renewed purpose. That purpose? To build something that would give back to the island he calls home. J&J On the Go was born.

As a mobile automotive services business, J&J On the Go is exactly what it sounds like: quality vehicle care that comes straight to you. From oil changes and routine maintenance to general automotive repairs, John’s mission is to offer affordable, reliable, and accessible services without requiring customers to leave their homes or jobs.

“I wanted to create a business that not only helps people take care of their cars, but also helps grow our local economy,” John shares. “I want to provide jobs for our local people and become one of Saipan’s successful business owners.”

J&J On Go is unique not only for the convenience but also the heart behind it. John’s goal has always been more than profit. It’s about community, family, and taking pride in building something that helps others. His mobile service model responds to the needs of busy residents and businesses, making car care less of a hassle and more of a helping hand.

His proudest moment so far was getting his business plan and business license in place. It was the first major step in turning an idea into reality, and that step was taken with support from the CNMI Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

After hearing about SBDC through word of mouth, John got connected and never looked back. Through one-on-one business counseling, federal contracting training, and opportunities like Industry Day, SBDC helped John take scattered thoughts and shape them into a structured, strategic plan.

“SBDC helped me organize my ideas and turn them into something I could act on,” he says. “I especially want to thank the SBDC staff and Mercilynn Palec for being a great help in making this happen.”

Looking ahead, John has set his sights on federal contracting. It’s a major growth opportunity that he’s now confidently pursuing thanks to the guidance and tools he’s received. He’s laying the groundwork for a business that not only thrives but scales, with the potential to take on larger contracts and expand his reach throughout the CNMI.

For John, J&J On the Go is more than a mobile service; it’s a mobile mission. One built on the values of service, community pride, and forward motion.

As he continues to grow, his story serves as inspiration for anyone who dreams of starting small, working hard, and driving change in their community—one oil change at a time
